Every college is, after all, a social institution. So if it turns its back upon the community which feeds and nourishes it, it will imperil its very existence. MUC Women's College, therefore, has been endeavouring to be community-oriented in its activities. The NSS team of the college works for comprehensive social uplift through Survey, Afforestation, Traffic Control, Campus Cleaning, to name a few. Blood Donation camps organized from time to time in the college are also directed towards community welfare, especially the welfare of the Thalassaemia patients. The participation of the college students in AIDS Awareness Programmes strengthens the social campaign against the HIV menace. Through class lectures and project works the students of the college are inspired to understand the environment and threats to it so that they may play active role in making it more habitable for the future generations.
Some other extension activities regularly promoted by the college are:
Eradication of illiteracy
Creating awareness among people about the abuse of pesticides in agriculture and abuse of medicine
Conservation of bio-diversity for sustainable growth
Campaigning for the needs for rain water harvesting
Motivating people to use of solar energy
Sensitizing minds to the medicinal property of herbs and plants
Working for the social rehabilitation of the female inmates of District Correctional Home.
